"When is the last time you felt the grass beneath your bare feet?"
The answer would have been "everyday" if I was eighteen or under. But, at that time, I couldn't remember the last time. It was a pivotal moment for me. Now, anytime the stresses of life get to me... when I have a moment of exhaustion, frustration, sadness... I step outside with bare feet and walk in the grass slowly. I take time to breathe while feeling the earth beneath my feet and the sun (or rain) on my skin. It works immediately in centering myself and aligning with the creator.
I was blessed enough to speak with a friend about this and give her this advice recently. It helped her tremendously to reconnect with her inner child and soul. She, in turn, came across an article that confirmed our theory about the value of this.

To take a moment, no matter how brief, to ground yourself is one of the kindest things you can do for yourself. Excuse yourself from your kids, friends, spouse, co-workers and try it out next time you feel you will explode. I hope it helps you as much as it helps me. I'd love to hear from you. When is the last time you felt the grass beneath YOUR bare feet?
